Adam Hassan MD

Dr. Hassan has extensive training in plastic and reconstructive surgery of the eyelids and face, performing both cosmetic and functional procedures. He received his medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School and he also completed residency and fellowship at U of M. He served on faculty at the University until moving to Grand Rapids in 2007. He has numerous peer reviewed journal publications and serves as a reviewer for many widely read journals. He is board-certified and a member of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Outside of his private practice Dr. Hassan has served as the division chief of ophthalmology for Spectrum Health System since 2012.

Leon Herndon MD

Leon W. Herndon, Jr., MD Professor of Ophthalmology Duke University Medical Center Durham, North Carolina Leon W. Herndon, Jr., MD, is Professor of Ophthalmology at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina. He earned his MD from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine, and served his internship and residency at the University of North Carolina Hospital in Chapel Hill. Dr. Herndon then completed a clinical fellowship in glaucoma at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina. Dr. Herndon is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) and was a member of the first class of the Leadership Development Program. He has authored over 100 peer-reviewed papers, lectured nationally and internationally, and has participated in several research projects related to glaucoma. He currently serves as Chief of the Glaucoma Division at the Duke University Eye Center where he has trained 79 clinical fellows. Dr. Herndon has been recognized for his service in the community by receiving the Senior Achievement Award from the AAO and the Dedicated Humanitarian Service Award presented by Dr. Leonel Fernandez Reyna, President of the Dominican Republic, on the occasion of the 2nd Ophthalmology Mission in the Dominican Republic. Dr. Herndon is the recipient of the Distinguished Medical Alumnus Award from the UNC School of Medicine, and was the Surgery Day Lecturer at the American Glaucoma Society Annual Meeting in 2019. He was named to the 2021 Newsweek America’s Best Eye Doctors list (#27). He is founder of the North Carolina Glaucoma Club, and the chair of the Glaucoma Clinical Committee of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons as well as Vice President of the American Glaucoma Society. Dr. Herndon’s research interests include studying novel treatment approaches in the diagnosis and management of glaucoma. He has ongoing research projects evaluating the high prevalence of primary open angle glaucoma in Ghana, West Africa, where he travels yearly.

Ian Humphreys DO

Ian M. Humphreys, DO FARS, is an Associate Professor and Division Chief of Rhinology and Endoscopic Skull Base Surgery in the Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Washington Medical Center – Montlake in Seattle, WA. He is Director of the Neurorhinology & Advanced Sinus Surgery Fellowship as well as Department Career Advisor and Director of the Otolaryngology Clerkship through the University of Washington School of Medicine. He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and minor in Chemistry and then performed basic and translational research at the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute. He then graduated summa cum laude and with Psi Sigma Alpha distinctions from the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, PA. He completed an Otolaryngology residency through Michigan State University at Detroit Medical Center and then a Rhinology and Endoscopic Skull Base Surgery Fellowship at Stanford University. Dr. Humphreys has been faculty at the University of Washington School of Medicine since 2015. His practice and research focuses exclusively on rhinology and anterior skull base disorders. His research interests include invasive fungal infections of the nose and sinuses, as well as outcomes in skull base malignancies. He is married with two children. He currently is an Ironman Triathlete and competes in races regionally and nationally. He also enjoys mountaineering and camping.

Aria Jafari MD

Aria Jafari, M.D., is an assistant professor in the Department of Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery at the University of Washington. Dr. Jafari is a fellowship-trained surgeon with expertise in the full spectrum of sinus and nasal disorders, including chronic rhinosinusitis, nasal polyps, sinus tumors and cancers, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leaks, and disorders of taste and smell. Dr. Jafari also collaborates with other surgeons to perform minimally invasive surgery to access tumors in the brain and orbit and treat disorders of the tear duct (lacrimal) system. Dr. Jafari completed his fellowship at Harvard Medical School in rhinology, sinus and endoscopic skull base surgery. After graduating from Stanford University School of Medicine, Dr. Jafari completed his residency in otolaryngology - head and neck surgery at the University of California, San Diego, where he was also a NIH post-doctoral research fellow. He is the recipient of numerous awards and grants and has participated in humanitarian missions to underserved areas in Mexico, Central America, and Africa.

Michael Keil DO

Dr. Keil is a Board-Certified Ophthalmologist and LASIK specialist with over 14,000 procedures performed. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor at Michigan State University and was Research Associate at the University of Michigan where he received the U Matter Award for outstanding performance. Dr. Keil has written articles on ophthalmology and has a number of scientific publications. Dr. Keil has also had laser vision correction. Dr. Keil and his wife have three boys. Dr. Keil enjoys hitting the trails with the family and their dog, staying active with his boys that are in Boy Scouts and college, and spending his summer days on the water. Leslie Kim MD, MPH

Leslie Kim, MD, MPH is an Associate Professor and Division Director of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, OH. She graduated from Northwestern University Honors Program in Medical Education with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, Master of Public Health, and Medical Degree. After completing a residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at The Ohio State, she underwent advanced fellowship training in facial plastic surgery at Johns Hopkins. She is double-board certified (ABFPRS and ABOHNS) and her practice focuses exclusively on aesthetic and reconstructive surgeries of the face and neck.

Shant Korkigian DO

Shant Korkigian, DO FAOCO-HNS attended undergraduate at the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor, MI) where he received a Bachelor of Art in Political Science and Near Eastern Studies. He received his Doctor of Osteopathy from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine (East Lansing, MI). He went onto complete his residency in Otolaryngology and Facial Plastic Surgery at what is now the Beaumont Hospital System in the Michigan State University Statewide Campus System (Farmington Hills, MI) and a fellowship in Head and Neck Surgical Oncology and Microvascular Reconstruction at St. Vincent Hospital (Indianapolis, IN). He is now a private practice otolaryngologist at ENT Specialists, PC (Novi, MI) and is currently a clinical associate professor at Michigan State University as faculty in both the Beaumont Health System and Ascension Hospitals' (Detroit Area) Otolaryngology residency programs.

Saroj Misra DO, FACOFP

Saroj Misra, DO, FACOFP is the Associate Dean of Clinical Affairs for the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine at A.T. Still University. Prior to assuming the role of Associate Dean, Dr. Misra served as Program Director of the Family Medicine residency at Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital in Michigan for 16 years and continues to serve as Core Faculty and Chief of the Department of Family Medicine. Nationally, he serves on the Board of Governors for the ACOFP. His leadership roles align closely with his passion for osteopathic medical education in both the undergraduate and graduate arenas. He wishes to get educators to ‘think different’ when it comes to teaching and learning. He has received numerous awards during his career, including being named the 2018 ACOFP Family Physician of the Year and receiving the 2019 ACOFP Master Preceptor Award as well as being named to the AOA Osteopathic Mentor Hall of Fame - twice. Dr. Misra has two daughters, Asha & Nisha who manage to astound, outwit and embarrass him with startling frequency. He is open to any suggestions or advice people might have. 😅

With over 25 years’ experience and as member of various Advisory Boards for several pharmaceuticals companies, he has overseen the process of introducing new products for FDA approval into the United States. He is an established top injector, author, researcher, speaker and trainer. He has numerous publications in medical journals and contributions in medical books. In addition to having a successful practice in San Juan, Puerto Rico (which is also a research and training center), in his role as a Professor of the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine, Dr. Montes serves as a mentor to medical residents at the Río Piedras Medical Center.

Morris, MM, MA, CCC-SLP is a voice-specialized speech-language pathologist lead and singing voice specialist at the Center for Voice & Swallowing Disorders at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist in Winston-Salem, NC. She was conferred a Master of Music in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy by East Carolina University and a Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology from Indiana University, completing her clinical fellowship in voice at the Emory Voice Center in Atlanta, GA. She is passionate about preventative care for the professional voice user and work with athletes experiencing exercise-induced laryngeal obstruction.
